ATV Sand tires are very specific and shouldn't be used for anything other than sandy terrain. While they don't do well on hard packed surfaces, they are especially effective on sand. Sand is granular and difficult to gain traction in. That's where the paddles on the tires come in. The paddles will scoop into the sand like specialized shovels and send your wheeler hurtling forward in even the loosest sand. If you fancy yourself a dune rider, we recommend sand tires as a necessity.
